Queen Mary 2 Transatlantic Crossing 2026
We were finally able to take the journey our families had made from Britain to the United States. With both of us having family arrivals in the 1630s it was important to me to do the crossing in the proper direction. The crossing starts in Southampton and takes a week to reach New York City. The North Atlantic was mostly overcast, but only had rough seas with 3-5 meter waves on Sunday. The Queen Mary 2, the last of the purpose-built ocean liners, was an elegant and effortless way to travel with no jetlag. I would make the trip again and take it in either direction now that I've followed my family.
