I'm at a loss for words

A walk with the dog and friends in the woods at the tip of Door County to mark the beginning of summer.

I always welcome

first robin of spring

returning after long journey

he disappears into

the fall night

never saying goodbye

or me wishing a pleasant trip

Kevin A. Butler: Kevin A. Butler is a poet, writer and photographer who occupies a transitional, liminal space—specifically, the midwestern threshold between urban isolation and rural peace.
